🌠Citroen Berlingo Van Central Locking Problem
Reputation: 0. #1. 20-12-2011, 04:27 PM. Hi All. I am trying to replace the ignition barrel on my van (key no longer turns) by following the instructions in a Haynes manual. All going well until I try and disconnect the wires from the switch - the last thing I need to do before pulling the barrel out. Problem is the wires go behind the casing
Put the hair dryer on it and leave it blowing on it for 15 minutes, you want to evaporate any moisture out of the board. Remove all of the fuses, take a picture of where they go first tho. Give the board a good look over and look for any signs of corrosion, or cracked solder joints. Then reconnect the way Tomcat says.
The Berlingo never featured in our Driver Power used car surveys and last appeared in our new car polls in 2016, when it came 127th out of 150 entries. The boxy Citroen’s best rating was 18th

If you have already done all this it is possible you have a faulty relay. The ones which control central locking are YH119 012-1z11-1A. One controls locking, the other unlocking. You can apply 12 volts to the coil and you should hear it click. You can test the resistance between the contact pins to see which one, if any, is faulty.
Check the central locking system by unlocking and locking the door consecutively.(if fitted - ignore this step if not ) Turn the engine on again and finish inspecting the system. Following any other procedure could cause malfunctioning of different units which depend on BSI.

When checking the wires you are looking for a reading of either -12 volts or 12 volts. If the reading shows full current and the motor is not running it means that the motor is at fault. A lower reading means that sufficient current is not reaching the motor and that the problem is further up the circuit. Using the drop testing voltage method
